About the Training

What geographical areas do you cover?

Jake works with organisations across the UK, delivering in-person training, mediation and workshops. Online and blended delivery is available for most services, removing geographical constraints for dispersed or remote teams.

How many people can attend a session?

Each service has different capacity limits.

  • Mental Health First Aid, Mental Health First Aid for Managers, MHFA Champion and Mental Health Skills for Managers - 16 people.

  • Mental Health Aware and MHFA Refresher - 25 people.

MHFA courses are capped in line with MHFA England's requirements. For larger cohort delivery, Jake can discuss a programme structure across multiple sessions - contact him to talk through what works for your organisation.

Jake's bespoke Suicide Awareness & Prevention workshop is capped at 16 people.

E-learning licenses can be flexible to the volume of need and available over a longer period of time.

For bespoke training please contact with your requirements.

Can you work with any type of organisation?

Yes. Jake works with charities, businesses, universities, colleges, NHS organisations, local councils, public sector and private sector employers across a wide range of industries. If you are not sure whether your context is a fit, a brief conversation is the fastest way to find out.

Can training be delivered online?

Most services are available online via Google Meet or Zoom - or via on-demand e-learning. All MHFA courses are available to be delivered online.

Can training be customised for our organisation?

Yes. Jake offers bespoke training design as a service in its own right, and most standard programmes can be contextualised for your sector, culture and specific challenges. Book a call and we can talk about your training needs.

What if someone has a difficult emotional response during training?

Jake has extensive experience creating a psychologically safe environment in training rooms, including on sensitive topics such as suicide awareness. Sessions include clear ground rules, time for reflection, and signposting to support. Jake is also happy to discuss any concerns about participant readiness prior to delivery.

About Mediation and Coaching

Is this a form of counselling or therapy?

No. Jake is a trainer, facilitator and workplace mediator - not a clinician. Mental Health First Aid, workplace wellbeing training and mediation are practical, workplace-focused services. They do not provide, replicate or replace therapeutic or clinical mental health treatment. If a participant needs clinical support, Jake will signpost to the appropriate services.

What is mediation and is the outcome binding?

Mediation is a voluntary, confidential process facilitated by an impartial third party - in this case Jake, as a Registered Workplace Mediator with the Civil Mediation Council. The outcome is not imposed: both parties agree any resolution themselves. This makes it fundamentally different from arbitration or a formal grievance investigation.

About Working With Jake

What qualifications does Jake hold?

Jake is an accredited Instructor Member approved by MHFA England to deliver Mental Health First Aid courses, a Workplace Mediator, a Registered Mediator with the Civil Mediation Council, and a Conflict Coach. His practice is informed by over a decade of frontline delivery and lived experience of ADHD and EUPD - which he brings as professional depth, not as a personal disclosure.

How much does it cost?

Fees vary depending on the service, number of participants, format and any customisation required. Contact Jake for a straightforward conversation about your needs and a clear quote - no lengthy procurement processes and no vague day rate estimates. For most services the Quote tool will give up-to-date pricing.

How quickly can a session be organised?

Most sessions can be confirmed and booked within 2–3 weeks. Bespoke workshops requiring a lot of customisation / design work may take a little longer. Jake keeps his onboarding process lean - no unnecessary paperwork, no slow procurement chains.

How do I know if Jake is the right fit for my organisation?

The honest answer is: a conversation. Jake does not assume every enquiry is a confirmed booking - he asks about your context, your team and your goals before recommending anything. If he is not the right fit, he will say so and point you somewhere that is. Book a free call to find out.

Do you have other Questions?

Get in touch directly - Jake responds to all enquiries personally. No autoresponders, no gatekeeping.
