The Mental Health Skills for Managers course, by MHFA England has been updated. Bringing a focus on practical learning and manager-specific scenarios, with new content on stress and legal responsibilities. The course is for people managers who are new to the role OR looking to build on their knowledge and confidence around mental health support.
The purpose of this course is to enable managers to have meaningful and effective conversations with their people about their mental health and wellbeing so they can thrive at work.
This course will build on managers current experience and provide structure around conversations you're already having. By the end of this four hour course, you will be able to:
Describe mental health and the impact of stress on employees in the workplace
Identify if a team member may be experiencing poor mental health
Confidently have open conversations about mental health at work
Respond with empathy to challenging situations related to mental health in the workplace
Appropriately signpost your team members to available support
Describe what support and guidance is available for yourself, and your employees, and how to access it
This is a half day course delivered either face-to-face or online.
When booking individual places, these courses are online only
Learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions, and workshop activities.
We limit numbers to 16 people per course so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn
